CREATIVE CLAY FACES – CLAY AND RECYCLED GLASS WORKSHOP
Work with clay and glass with John Snowden to create fabulously funny faces that will then be taken away and fired, ready to put up in your home or garden.

COLOUR YOUR WORLD - ART WORKSHOP
Mike Webster returns to help you create fantastic watercolour and coloured pencil sketches with inspiration from our lovely house and gardens. Materials are available but if you have your own special paints that you like to use, please feel free to bring them along.

SONGS FROM THE SHOWS
Abi Moore, aclaimed singer/songwriter, returns to Alford with a music session which will appeal to younger children. Learn songs from shows like Glee and High School Musical plus lots of other musical theatre favourites in this 2 hour workshop. Show off your new skills to your friends and parents at the end of the session.

THURSDAY 29TH JULY, 2pm – 4pm
POPTASTIC SONGS IN PARTS
Abi stays with us to teach you how to sing more complicated songs which will involve part-singing too. Friends and family will be able to see you perform what you have learned at the end of the workshop.

JUNK DRUMMING
Come and make a noise with Helen from SOUNDLINCS. A great chance to create complex rhythms and work as a group using lots of different musical styles. What a great idea for a load of junk!

CLAY PLAQUES
We are running this workshop again, as it was so popular in the Easter break. A chance to make your favourite character out of clay, but this time to mount them on a plaque. As you will be using air-drying clay, you will be able to take home your work immediately after this session.

WEDNESDAY 11th & THURSDAY 12TH AUGUST

GLEE TWO-DAY WORKSHOP
(please bring a packed lunch & drink on both days)
Come and learn the songs and routines from the hit series Glee at Alford Manor House. Polka Dot Arts return to help polish your performances in two days… just in time to show your skills to friends and parents at the end of the second day.

WEDNESDAY 18th & THURSDAY 19TH AUGUST
10am – 4pm both days
CHINESE DRAGON STORIES, PUPPETS & MUSIC
(please bring a packed lunch & drink on both days)
Join Ling Peng as she and her colleagues take you on a journey to China via some Dragon stories. On the first day you will make dragon puppets and on the second learn the stories and music to create a whole Chinese story. There will be a chance to perform your work to friends and family at the end of the session.

WEDNESDAY 25th AUGUST, 2pm - 4pm
POP UP 3D CARTOON CARDS
Chris Freeman shows you how to draw really effective cartoons, make them appear 3D and then turn them into a greetings card. Chris is an expert at creating caricatures and cartoons and this workshop will be great for budding animators.

RECYCLED FASHIONS WITH HATS ON HEADS
A chance to create your own stunning fashions from recycled materials with the amazing Hats on Heads team. They will show you how to create fabulous corsages and hair decorations from unused fabrics and additional decorative items.
