Apple Day is now becoming a busy day when you will be able to see a very wide range of locally grown apples on display in the marquee.  Our expert will be able to guide you around the garden to see our collection of Lincolnshire apple trees and explain how we have learnt to prune them to encourage good growth.  Taste our own apple juice, chutneys, jams, jellies and baked dishes along with locally produced ciders.  You will be able to purchase the preserves and recipes for the baked items.  Then visit the tearoom for our special ‘apple’ menu.

The Museum of Rural Life is open as usual on this day 


Wolds Words Events

In conjunction with Wolds Words, the Manor House is the venue for several events during October.
22nd October: Literacy workshop
23rd October: Talk by Alan Stennett entitled ‘The changing face of Lincolnshire farming’
27th October: 2 different workshops: Willow weaving

Open on Friday 1st December from 10am to 4pm

Stalls throughout the House and Marquee run by local Charities, Schools and local Craftspersons .
Music from local musicians, schools and Alford Silver Band.
Seasonal food, mulled wine, mince pies, a raffle, competitions and much more.
Display all the entries in our Children’s Colouring Competition
Santa in his wonderful Attic Grotto to meet all children and their families.
Admission is free.

Open on Saturday 2nd December from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm.

A range of stalls by local craftspersons in the marquee and a chance to view our wonderfully decorated Christmas Trees.

Our Tearoom and the Museum of Rural life are also open. Admission is free.
