Recently the museum of Alford Manor House has been working on two projects.
Firstly, it has installed 6 Tiny Tags. These sensors monitor the temperature and humidity of a room 24/7. This information enables the museum staff to ensure the best environment for artefacts thereby prolonging the artefacts life in good condition.
The second project has been managed jointly with Lincoln University. Students have been testing the software that gives an artefacts location in the museum and the condition of the artefact. This enables our records to be accurate and up to date.
Both projects have been supported with funding from Arts Council England through Museum Development Midlands.
